Ingredients

  • 1 chai black tea bag, we used Tazo organic chai black tea
  • 8 ounces unsweetened vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
  • 3 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup, honey, monk fruit, sugar, or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  • Add your milk of choice, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and your sweetener of choice to a saucepan. Then, whisk these ingredients together.
  • Continue to whisk the mixture in the saucepan over medium heat on the stove until the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chai black tea bag. Let the tea steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on how strong you want the chai flavor to be.
  • Once done, remove the tea bag and whisk the mixture over low heat until warm.
  • Pour your pumpkin chai latte into your favorite mug and enjoy!

Notes

  • How To Make Pumpkin Pie Spice: If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, combine 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon with a pinch of ground nutmeg, cloves, and ginger or cardamom.
  • Steep The Tea: Ensure that you let the chai tea bag steep in the warm milk for at least 5 minutes so the flavor gets infused in this latte.
  • Whisk The Milk: Continually whisk the milk as it heats in the saucepan so it doesn’t curdle or burn.
  • Tea Bag: For a stronger chai flavor in this latte, add another chai black tea bag.
  • Make This Latte Iced: If you prefer an iced pumpkin chai latte you will still need to warm the milk to steep the tea bags in. However, after that, don’t continue to heat the latte, just pour it over ice in a glass.
  • What Sweetener To Use: Maple syrup, honey, sugar, or coconut sugar are great options.
