Ingredients

  • 3 medium-sized ripe mangoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 bunch of cilantro chopped
  • 1 medium-sized red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 medium-sized jalapeño seeded and finely diced
  • 2 small limes, juiced
  • 1 small lime, zested
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the mangoes, cilantro, red bell pepper, jalapeño, and limes. Cut the mango into small pieces, carefully avoiding the pit. Dice the red onion, finely chop the cilantro and red bell pepper, and seed and finely dice the jalapeño. Zest one lime and squeeze the juice from two limes. Crush the garlic cloves.
  • Add the mango, red onion, cilantro, red bell pepper, jalapeño, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, and salt to a bowl.
  • Thoroughly mix until well combined, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Ripe but Firm Mangoes: Choose mangoes that are ripe for the best sweetness and flavor, but still slightly firm so they hold their shape in the salsa and don’t become mushy.
  • Chop Ingredients Evenly: Try to chop the ingredients into similar-sized pieces so you get a balanced mix of flavors in every bite.
  • Let the Salsa Chill: For even better flavor, let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes before serving. This gives the flavors time to meld together.
  • Add Peach or Pineapple: We love the flavor of mango in this salsa. However, this mango salsa would be great with pineapple or peach. To do this, replace half of the mango with some chopped pineapple or chopped peaches.
