PIZZA TOAST

Pizza toast is a quick and effortless meal to prepare. It combines the irresistible flavors of pizza with the simplicity of toasted bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 large piece of bread, low-carb bread, or flatbread
  • 2 tablespoons marinara sauce or pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon roasted garlic optional
  • 1/3 cup light mozzarella cheese or cheese of choice
  • 1 small tomato, sliced, optional
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • crushed red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  • Place the piece of bread on a sheet pan and lightly toast it in the oven for a few minutes so your pizza toast has a crispy crust.
  • Carefully remove the sheet pan from the oven. Add the marinara sauce and optional roasted garlic to the toasted bread. Then, add the cheese, sliced tomato, and your favorite toppings.
  • Bake the pizza toast at 400°F for 7-10 minutes. Once done, top with fresh chopped basil and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Let it slightly cool and serve immediately.

  • Toast: Use a slice of your favorite bread, low-carb bread, low-carb tortilla, or flatbread.
