Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Parmesan

Roasted cabbage steaks with Parmesan are a simple and flavorful side dish with crispy edges and tender centers. They're easy to make and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 3-4 sprays of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Slice the cabbage into ¾-1-inch steaks. Keep the core intact so they hold together.
  • Place the cabbage steaks on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Don’t overcrowd the sheet pan. You may need to cook them in batches, depending on the size of your sheet pan, or use two sheet pans. Lightly spray both sides with olive oil. Then, season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Roast the cabbage steaks at 400°F for 25 minutes. Then, carefully flip the cabbage steaks.
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over top, and roast for another 10-15 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  • Serve warm with fresh lemon if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Italian Seasoning Swap: If you don’t have Italian seasoning, use ⅛ teaspoon of dried oregano, ⅛ teaspoon of dried basil, and a pinch of dried thyme.
  • Extra Crispy: For extra crispy roasted cabbage steaks, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end, but keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
