How To Make Sweet Potatoes In The Slow Cooker

It is super easy to make sweet potatoes in the slow cooker! Also, this cooking method maximizes the sweetness of the potatoes.
First, wash and scrub the sweet potatoes and rinse them with cold water. You do not want to dry your potatoes because it helps add moisture when cooking in the slow cooker. Also, you don’t need to add anything else to the slow cooker or poke the potatoes.

Then, place the sweet potatoes in the slow cooker and cover them. Cook them on low for 5-7 hours or high for 3.5-4 hours. You can always check if they are done with a fork. If the fork goes in with no resistance they are done. Additionally, I really like cooking them on low for the sweetness to develop. If you have the time definitely give it a try on low. Once the sweet potatoes are cooked, let them cool before removing the skin. After that, you will have perfectly cooked sweet potatoes that are ready to enjoy! We love making sweet potato mash with them.
How To Bake Sweet Potatoes In The Oven
Don’t have time to cook your sweet potatoes in the slow cooker? Then, you can cook them in the oven! To do this, wash your sweet potatoes, pat them dry, and then poke each sweet potato about 4-6 times before baking. This helps keep them from bursting. We definitely don’t want an explosion in the oven! Bake at 400 degrees F for 60 minutes or until tender.
Also, keep in mind that larger sweet potatoes will take longer to cook than smaller sweet potatoes. You can always check with a fork to see if they are cooked. If the fork goes in with no resistance they are done. Let the sweet potatoes cool before removing the skin.
Air Fryer Baked Sweet Potatoes
To make sweet potatoes in the air fryer, first wash the sweet potatoes to remove any excess dirt. There’s no need to pat them dry, just make sure to poke a fork around the potatoes so they don’t explode. Then, place the potatoes in the air fryer and close it. Set the air fryer to 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes. The sweet potatoes are done when a fork goes in with no resistance.
How To Boil Sweet Potatoes
To boil sweet potatoes wash and peel them. Then, cut them into the same-sized cubes, about 1-2 inches in size. After that, cover them with cold water and salt the water with 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the water to a boil and boil the sweet potatoes for 15-25 minutes, depending on the size of the cubes. You can check if they are done by piercing them with a fork. If the fork goes through without resistance the sweet potatoes are done.
