This slow cooker tomato sauce is a breeze to prepare using two cans of whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes, garlic, onions, and herbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans, 28 oz each, of whole, peeled San Marzano tomatoes

  • 1 medium white or sweet onion, 1-1 ½ CUPS minced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 TSP dried oregano

  • 2 TSP basil

  • 1 TSP kosher salt

  • 1/8 TSP pepper

  • 2 bay leaves

Directions

  • Add the two cans of whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes to the slow cooker. Use your hands to crush the tomatoes and release the juices. Then, add the minced onion, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  • Mix all of the ingredients in the slow cooker. Then, add the bay leaves.
