Ingredients Needed

Ingredients for air fryer tortilla pizza
  • Tortilla: Use your tortilla of choice. I like to use a low-carb Olé tortilla. Flour tortillas are another great option.
  • Sauce: Add your favorite pizza or marinara sauce.
  • Cheese: Sprinkle your favorite pizza cheese over top before air frying. I like light mozzarella.
  • Basil: For added flavor, sprinkle with fresh chopped basil once done.
  • Oregano: Sprinkle dried oregano over top for even more flavor.

How To Make Air Fryer Tortilla Pizza

Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2: As an option, for an extra crispy pizza, cook the tortilla in the air fryer for one minute. Air fry the tortilla before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Step 3: Then, add the sauce and cheese to the tortilla. If you want, add additional toppings.

Step 4: Place the tortilla pizza in the air fryer basket and air fry it. Once done, carefully remove it from the air fryer and let it slightly cool. Then, slice the tortilla pizza and top with basil and oregano.

What To Serve With Air Fryer Tortilla Pizza

Tortilla pizza is a delicious light lunch, appetizer, or snack. Enjoy it warm after air frying it. To make it a more balanced meal, consider adding some protein such as fully cooked chopped chicken on top. Or, serve it alongside other dishes such as a side salad, soup, or sliced vegetables and a dip. We love to enjoy it with our apple cabbage salad, Caesar salad, or strawberry goat cheese salad.

Expert Tips

  • Preheat: Ensure that you preheat your air fryer to 400°F before adding the tortilla pizza. The tortilla pizza cooks quickly, so it is important that the air fryer is already at 400°F so it gets crispy.
  • Spread The Sauce: When spreading the sauce on the tortilla, ensure to leave some room around the edges to create a visible crust.
  • Don’t Add Too Many Toppings: You can add whatever pizza toppings you would like. However, don’t add too many of them, or your tortilla pizza won’t get as crispy.
  • Air Fry The Tortilla: If you want an even crispier tortilla crust, air fry the tortilla for one minute before adding the sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Don’t Burn Them: Check on your tortilla pizza while it is air frying to ensure it doesn’t burn.
  • Make More Tortilla Pizzas: You can always make as many tortilla pizzas as you want.
  • Cook One At A Time: Cook one tortilla pizza at a time if making more than one.

Storage Instructions

This tortilla pizza is best enjoyed right after air frying it when it is warm and crispy. However, if you have any leftovers, you can store them in the fridge for 1-2 days. Store this tortilla pizza in an airtight container or wrap it in tinfoil. When ready to enjoy again, reheat it for 1-2 minutes in the air fryer.

Air Fryer Tortilla Pizza Variations

  • Sauce Ideas: For the sauce, use marinara sauce, pizza sauce, our homemade marinara sauce, our slow cooker tomato sauce, or your favorite sauce. Or, for another flavor, use BBQ sauce, Alfredo sauce, or pesto!
  • Cheese To Use: Use your favorite cheese. Some options are light mozzarella, a pizza cheese blend, parmesan, feta, or cheddar.
  • Make It Low-Carb: We made this a low-carb recipe by using a low-carb tortilla.

  • Make It Dairy-Free and Vegan: If you want to make this tortilla pizza vegan and dairy-free, use vegan cheese.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Make Air Fryer Tortilla Pizzas Ahead Of Time?

No, I don’t recommend making tortilla pizzas ahead of time. As they sit, they become less crunchy. They are best enjoyed when they are crispy and warm. Also, there is no need to make them ahead of time because they only take about five minutes to make.

What Tortilla Should I Use?

Use a flour tortilla, whole wheat tortilla, or low-carb tortilla. We love making tortilla pizzas with Olé low-carb tortillas. We don’t recommend using a corn tortilla. Also, use a medium-sized or large tortilla. If you only have small tortillas, use two of them and evenly distribute the ingredients.

How Can I Ensure The Tortilla Is Crispy?

To ensure your tortilla pizza is crispy and that the tortilla isn’t soggy underneath, you can air fry the tortilla for a minute before adding the rest of the ingredients and air frying again. Also, don’t add too many toppings or it won’t be as crispy. Air frying at 400°F also helps make the tortilla pizza crispy.

Is This Air Fryer Tortilla Pizza Healthy?

This air fryer tortilla pizza is a healthier option. This recipe has no oil, and we used simple ingredients such as a low-carb tortilla, sauce, and light cheese.
