One of my favorite foods is CHEESE! I love this amazing baked brie bites recipe. They are the perfect appetizer! The phyllo dough makes these brie bites perfectly light, airy, and crispy. The brie is baked inside the phyllo dough cups to give you warm cheesy goodness in every bite.
Also, we like to add sweet and savory toppings to compliment the flavor of the cheese. For sweet brie bites, fig spread and quince paste work really well as well as pepper jelly and honey. For savory bites, we like to use our small roasted tomatoes and prosciutto. To say I love these brie bites is an understatement! They really are the ultimate appetizer with so many options and I know you will find your perfect brie bite combination.
How To Make Sweet Baked Brie Bites
To make brie bites, thaw out the frozen phyllo dough the night before by placing it in the refrigerator. The next day take it out of the refrigerator and place it on the counter when you are ready to make this recipe. Next, cut a slice of brie. Then, cut that slice into twelve even and small cube-sized pieces.
After that, lightly spray the top of every phyllo sheet or two with olive oil. Next, take the 6 stacked sheets of phyllo dough and cut them into 12 even pieces. Then, lightly spray the muffin pan with olive oil.
Then, take each stack and place them in the muffin pan. After that, place one cube of brie in each phyllo shell. To make sweet brie bites, we love adding a dollop of honey, hot honey, pepper jelly, fig jam/spread, or quince jam/spread. All of these work well and we love giving you options!
Bake the sweet brie bites and enjoy!
How To Make Savory Brie Bites
To make savory brie bites, follow the same steps to prepare the phyllo shells. Also, add the brie to the phyllo shells. We used our oven roasted tomato recipe to make mini roasted tomatoes. Then, we added one roasted tomato to each brie bite before baking.
Also, you could add regular tomatoes to your brie bites and sprinkle them with some garlic, salt, pepper, Italian herbs, and a little bit of prosciutto. We love dusting these brie bites with fresh basil when they come out of the oven.
We absolutely love using our roasted tomatoes in this recipe because they are packed with so many amazing flavors! They make the perfect savory brie bites recipe.
