Ingredients Needed For Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Ingredients For Peanut Butter Blossoms
  • Flour: Use all-purpose flour in this recipe.
  • Baking Soda: Helps the cookies rise.
  • Salt: Just a little salt to enhance the flavor.
  • Brown Sugar: You can use brown sugar or brown monk fruit.
  • Sugar: Use regular sugar or a 1:1 sugar-free sweetener such as monk fruit or Swerve.
  • Peanut Butter: Use room temperature natural creamy unsalted peanut butter.
  • Egg: One egg helps the cookies come together.
  • Vanilla Extract: A splash of vanilla for flavor.
  • Hershey’s Kisses: We used dark chocolate Hershey’s Kisses. For a sugar-free option, you can use Lily’s chocolate.

How To Make Peanut Butter Blossoms

Step 1: First, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 2: Next, add the brown sugar, sugar, creamy unsalted peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract to a separate bowl. Then, thoroughly combine the ingredients with an electric hand mixer or stand mixer.

Step 4: Then, use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop and roll the cookie dough into balls. Next, roll the balls in sugar. Then, place them on a sheet pan with parchment paper. After that, press the cookie dough balls down with two fingers and bake the cookies.

Expert Baking Tips

  • Use A Cookie Scoop: To form the cookies, use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop to make sure the cookies are consistent in size and roll the dough into balls.
  • Roll The Cookies In Sugar: These cookies are incredibly delicious on their own but feel free to roll them in sugar if you would like. Classic peanut butter blossom cookies are rolled in sugar before baking. If you do this, roll the cookie dough balls in sugar. Then, add them to your baking sheet and press them down with two fingers.
  • Use A Mixer To Combine: We used an electric hand mixer to combine the cookie dough. Another great option is a stand mixer. If you’re in a pinch and don’t have either, you can mix by hand. Just make sure the cookie dough is thoroughly combined.
  • Top Them With Hershey’s Kisses: Once the cookies are baked and slightly cooled, press the Hershey’s Kisses into the center of the cookies. This will give them chocolate flavor and their distinct look. Hershey’s Kisses work great in this recipe. We used dark chocolate, but milk chocolate will work as well.
  • Let The Cookies Cool: Once the cookies are baked, let them cool on a wire rack for 8-10 minutes. We recommend doing this before placing the Hershey’s Kisses in the center so they don’t melt. The chocolate will melt if you press the chocolate into the cookies after they come out of the oven.

What Peanut Butter Should I Use?

For this recipe, we used room-temperature natural creamy unsalted peanut butter. This gives the cookies the ultimate peanut butter flavor. Just reduce the salt in this recipe to 1/4 teaspoon.

What is the serving size (how many cookies? Your recipe states “WW Points™: 3 points per serving for 18-24 cookies”! Thank you and keep posting your tasty, healthy and lovely recipes.

    1. Shawna says:

Hi Vivi, I’m sorry for the confusion. I will fix it in the post. One serving is one cookie, which is 3 points. In the WW app, anywhere from 18-24 cookies was 3 points per cookie. I hope you enjoy!

  2. sharron hubbell says:

Any reason why I can’t, or shouldn’t, use PB2 instead of peanut butter?

    1. Shawna says:

Hi Sharron, for these cookies you will need some peanut butter to mix with the PB2. We have a recipe for peanut butter cookies that are made with PB2. You can put Hershey’s Kisses on top of those once they cool. If you use all PB2 it won’t work because there is no oil in the recipe and the cookies would fall apart. But, definitely check out our other peanut butter cookies made with PB2. You can search for them on our website under “Amazing Peanut Butter Cookies Gluten Free.” https://healthyfoodiegirl.com/amazing-peanut-butter-cookies-gluten-free/ I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy!

Can you show a picture of the peanut butter you used.

    1. Shawna says:

Hi Sandy, we used the natural creamy unsalted peanut butter from Trader Joe’s. Any natural creamy unsalted peanut butter will work in this recipe. I hope you enjoy, happy holidays!
