How To Store Granita

You can store any leftover granita in the freezer-safe airtight container you froze it in. Just use your fork to scrape the granita when you are ready to enjoy it again.

Tips For Making Watermelon Granita

  • Cut The Watermelon: Cut the watermelon into cubes for this recipe. There is no need to remove the seeds or strain the watermelon juice, just add the cubes to a blender.
  • Use A High-Powered Blender: It is important to use a high-powered blender when making granita so that the watermelon and strawberries are thoroughly blended.
  • Use Frozen Strawberries: While you could use fresh strawberries, frozen strawberries are more cost-effective for this recipe. Also, it is easier to use frozen strawberries since they are ready to go. Additionally, since they are frozen, it slightly chills this granita and speeds up the time it takes for it to freeze.
  • Don’t Forget About The Granita: Don’t forget about your granita in the freezer! Make sure to scrape it with a fork every hour as it freezes. If it freezes too long, it will be hard to scrape the ice. If this happens, let it sit on the counter until it is easier to scrape.
