We have made the ultimate fresh and easy pico de gallo recipe! It’s packed with flavor and has many uses! It can be enjoyed with chips, added to fish tacos, chicken tacos, salads, and much more. It maximizes the flavor in all of these dishes and brings them to another level. My favorite way to utilize this pico de gallo is by putting some on top of a breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs and beans.

This homemade pico de gallo pairs perfectly with our healthy chicken burrito bowl, chicken and cheese enchiladas, and refreshing skinny margarita. It’s definitely worth making fresh pico de gallo!

How To Make Easy Pico De Gallo From Scratch

To make this fresh and easy pico de gallo, start by removing the seeds of the jalapeño. Then, finely chop the jalapeño and add it to the bowl. Next, squeeze half of the lime and crush the garlic. Add them to the bowl along with the salt, diced onion, and finely chopped cilantro. After that, remove the seeds from the tomatoes and chop them into tiny pieces. Thoroughly combine all of the ingredients and enjoy!

  • 1 jalapeño, diced

  • 1/2 lime, squeezed

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1/4 TSP salt

  • 1 CUP white or sweet onion

  • bunch of cilantro (about 1 CUP)

  • 6 Roma tomatoes


  • Remove the inside of the jalapeño with the seeds, finely chop it, and add it to a bowl.
  • Squeeze half of a lime into the bowl.
  • Crush the garlic and put it in the bowl as well. Then, add the salt.
  • Dice an onion and put it in the bowl. 
  • Wash and dry the cilantro, take it off the stems, finely chop it, and place it in the bowl. 
  • Slice the Roma tomatoes in half and remove the seeds. After that, chop the tomatoes into tiny pieces and add them to the bowl.
  • Thoroughly combine all of the ingredients in the bowl and enjoy!
