How Long for Two Baked Potatoes in the Air Fryer

Cook two potatoes loosely wrapped in foil in the air fryer at 400°F for 25-30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and cook them for an additional 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the skin is crispy.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

  • The Best Potatoes to Use: It’s best to use russet potatoes for the fluffiest interior and best texture. Try to pick potatoes that are roughly the same size so they cook at the same rate.
  • Dry the Potatoes: After washing, thoroughly dry the potatoes so the skins get crispy.
  • Foil: Wrapping the potatoes in foil helps create an ultra-fluffy interior, then carefully unwrapping them for a final air fry gives them a crispy skin.
  • Don’t Overcrowd: Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed, depending on how many potatoes you’re making.
  • Season: You can season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, or your favorite herbs for extra flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Pierce Potatoes Before Putting Them in an Air Fryer?

Yes, pierce the potatoes a few times with a fork before air frying. This allows steam to escape as they cook, and helps them cook evenly.

Is it Faster to Bake a Potato in the Oven or Air Fryer?

It’s faster to bake a potato in the air fryer than in the oven. Oven-baked potatoes can take up to an hour, while air fryer baked potatoes are usually done in about 35-45 minutes, depending on size. Plus, the air fryer gives the potatoes crispier skins without having to heat the whole kitchen, making it my go-to method!

Potatoes are one of my favorite foods. I love being able to make potatoes that turns out perfect every time! I can make this recipe into almost a whole meal. I use all kinds of toppings, including sautéed mushrooms, or avocado, or any kind of cheese. Or all three! The options are endless! I’ll add olive oil or butter, and some fresh herbs. ( I love fresh dill) I’ll eat it with a salad and I’m good to go!
