Tips For Making Zucchini Fries

  • Evenly Cut The Zucchini: Make sure to cut the zucchini into even sticks. Even-sized pieces will ensure the zucchini fries cook at the same rate in the air fryer.
  • Lightly Spray With Oil: Lightly spray the coated zucchini fries with oil before air frying or baking them. This helps make them crispy.
  • Don’t Overcrowd The Basket: Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. Instead, air fry the zucchini fries in batches. Make sure there is enough room between the zucchini fries and they are not stacked.
  • Bake Them Instead: You can make these zucchini fries in the air fryer or bake them. We have made them both ways and each method works great. They turn super crispy either way. Just keep in mind that they will need longer to cook if you bake them than if you air fry them. Place the zucchini fries on a sheet pan and lightly spray them with oil. Then, bake them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 18-22 minutes. Make sure to check on them so they don’t burn and you can carefully move them around a few times with a spatula to ensure they cook evenly.

How Long To Air Fry Zucchini Fries

Air fry these homemade zucchini fries for 6-10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer. Also, there is no need to preheat your air fryer beforehand and the exact time will depend on your air fryer and the size of the zucchini sticks. Just make sure to toss the zucchini fries in the basket of the air fryer a few times while they cook so they cook evenly and don’t burn. You will know they are done when they are crispy and golden brown.

How To Serve Air Fryer Zucchini Sticks

Serve these air fryer zucchini sticks after air frying them. Let them slightly cool, carefully remove them from the air fryer, and enjoy them warm. We do not recommend storing these zucchini sticks and they will lose their crunch if they sit out. Enjoy them with marinara sauce, buffalo ranch sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Air Fryer Zucchini Fries Variations

  • How Much Zucchini To Use: Use one large zucchini for this recipe or 3 medium zucchini.
  • Grated Parmesan: Both pre-grated or freshly grated parmesan cheese will work in this recipe.
  • What Oil To Use: All you need is a light spray of oil over the zucchini fries once they are coated so they become crispy in the air fryer. You can lightly spray olive oil or avocado oil. We love using this Misto oil sprayer.
  • Make Zucchini Fries Gluten-Free: To make these zucchini fries gluten-free, use gluten-free cornflakes.
